With its fantastic choice of vegetarian and seafood eateries along its coastline, Kovalam is an ideal destination for food lovers in addition to its lovely beach in Kerala. 2. Neera Bar at Vivanta By Taj
This high-energy bar, located within the Vivanta By Taj hotel, plays a variety of world music and features a billiards table in addition to the best selection of cocktails and wines. This bar, in addition to its modern décor, offers a spectacular sunset view of the Kovalam beach.
3. Jeevan Music Cafe
With its live music band and classic English tunes, Jeevan Music Café, located near the Lighthouse beach in Kovalam, is one of the greatest locations to visit in Kovalam at night. You can unwind here with a mug of beer till ten o’clock in the evening.
4. Spend the night in a houseboat
Kovalam is surrounded by natural vegetation and freshness, with tranquil backwaters. You can stay on a houseboat in the Karamana or Ashtamudi rivers and enjoy the tranquilly of the backwaters for the night.
5. Sunset at Valiyathura Pier
This beach pier, about 10 kilometres from Kovalam beach, is one of the greatest sites to visit in Kovalam for a beautiful sunset view. A clear view of the Kovalam coastline is also available from the pier.
6. Vellayani lake
This lake, around 7 kilometres from Kovalam beach, is one of Kerala’s rare freshwater lakes. You can charter a boat on this lake to treat yourself to a stunning view of the lake on moonlit nights, which is one of the spots to visit in Kovalam at night. Alternatively, you can take a moonlit stroll down Kovalam beach, listening to the waves and admiring the moonlit waters.
7. Ayurvedic massage
An Ayurvedic massage, which is one of the activities to do in Kovalam at night, is a must-do on any vacation to Kerala. Two ayurvedic massage centres in Kovalam are Divya-The Health Spa at the Leela Kempinski beach resort and the Ideal Ayurveda resort. To prevent being disappointed at the last minute, schedule your session ahead of time.
Attending cultural events such as Kathakali dance performances and Kerala’s Kalari martial arts exhibition, which are often organised by any of the renowned hotels or resorts, is one of the things to do in Kovalam at night. If you travel in January, you can take part in the Gramam Village Fair celebration, which celebrates Kerala’s rich culture and arts for ten days.
9.Early morning activities
If you like to get up early in the morning, come down to the beach to watch the sunrise or go to Samudra Beach to witness the fisherman working their nets for the day’s catch.
